Why it costs what it costs
Solid beech, not veneer over chipboard. Each slat is milled, the magnets are seated and sealed, then the whole thing is oiled by hand.
An eight euro trivet is a piece of pressed cork. This one outlives the pot you put on it.

Questions
Will the magnets hold my cookware securely?
Anything with a cast iron or steel base. If a fridge magnet sticks to the bottom of your pot, the trivet will hold it.
What if my pot has no magnetic base?
Aluminium and copper pans will not be held by the magnets. The trivet still works as a trivet, it just will not stick. If that is your whole set, this product is not for you.
How hot can it get before the wood is affected?
It is made for hot cookware, up to about 200°C. Straight off the hob is what it is for. Taking something out of the oven and setting it down still hot is fine too. What wood does not like is being left wet, so the one thing to avoid is soaking it.
Why does it cost more than an ordinary trivet?
Solid beech instead of cork or pressed board, seated magnets, and hand oiling. It is a different object that happens to sit in the same drawer.
How do I clean it?
A damp cloth. Do not put it in the dishwasher and do not leave it soaking.
How long does delivery take and where do you ship?
